My story:

I was brought up with the mindset healthy mind, healthy body thanks to my dad.

This is a philosophy which I bring to you.

But let's, go back to the start. Growing up food was at the centre of my culture, family and daily life. Whether it was using food as a gift, celebrating an achievement, or, deciding what we are having for dinner (evening meal). Food was always being talked about in my family home.

Due to food = celebrations, I have had a mostly positive mindset about food. However, alongside this, my parents would remind me that food is fuel and your body needs a certain type of fuel to function.

This balance of food being fuel, but food also being used as a celebration did sometimes become a little confusing. However, going through my undergraduate degree and postgraduate Dietetics qualification I now understand what they mean.

I can now say that I have a healthy mindset regarding food, and a healthy diet, and a healthy lifestyle.

(This knowledge and enlightenment I want to bring to you)

I have during my undergraduate studied a little regarding the Psychology of eating - which is just fascinating and I will be bringing this knowledge to our sessions.

So, from my studies to my real-life examples, I see how important the initial blueprint we have during our childhood regarding food and lifestyle is.

I would like to provide you with the tools for yourself, but also so you can pass them on to your family and friends.

Our mindset with food impacts everything from our eating experiences to how we can influence others' experiences of eating.

Moreover, one of my close familial members suffers from an allergy to all nuts (both tree nuts and legumes). They have had many anaphylactic shocks. And it took a while for them to be diagnosed.

This is why I also have as passion for Allergies during childhood and supporting families who need guidance with a specialist diet.

Finally, I am Lactose Intolerant. It took me years to work out why I would be having bad cramps after eating or why I may be a little more gassy. It became so bad that when I would go out to meals I would order a beige meal because I did not want to be in pain.

Finding this out, and just taking a couple of Lactase Enzymes before a meal changed my life. But without studying Dietetics I would not have recognised it as that and I would not have to know the most simple treatment to be taking Lactase Enzyme that you can buy from most supermarkets.

It was all these above reasons that lead me to pursue Dietetics. I wanted to be fully trained, and fully knowledgeable so I could help out my family members. But also because food is a massive passion of mine.

I would like all to enjoy food like we do in my culture.

Now I am a Registered Dietitian I am in a position to help you change your mindset, become comfortable around food, eat healthy, and have a specialist diet regarding an allergy or intolerance.
